[SOLVED] VMware 9 Enable 3D Acceleration for Linux (Fedora 18)

Introduction

VMware 9 on Windows. Fedora 18 refuses to show you login screen when 3D Acceleration is enabled.

Easy Solution

  1. Turn off Virtual Machine(VM) and disable 3D acceleration under VM settings -> display.
  2. Start VM. Since 3D acceleration is disabled, it works though it's sluggish. Install Fedora 18.
  3. Reboot and update Fedora 18 using
    sudo yum update -y
  4. Turn off VM and then enable 3D acceleration.

Cause?

It seems like Mesa 3d Lib had a bug and it's been solved and the updated version has been submitted to Fedora Repo.
